Categories: Uncategorized
The annual prestige gala event, Western Cape Farm Worker of the Year 2014, took place on the 24th of July at Kaleo Guest Farm in the Koue Bokkeveld region, near Ceres. The De Keur Group had a number of nominees for this year’s competition and did exceptionally well. Farm workers get nominated across all spheres within the agricultural sector and we were well represented.
Congratulations to each and every one who participated in this year’s competition. The following employees were finalists in their respective categories and the De Keur Group is extremely proud of each one: Arno Galant (Supervisor), Geraldine Solomons (Administration), Klaas Muller (Middle Management), Koos Galant (Middle Management), Lawrence Balani (Irrigation Foreman), Lee-Ivan Muller (Technical), Lea George (Social Services), Marlyn Galant (Irrigation) and Princess Oldjohn (Social Services).
One of our star performers was Arno Galant, who won for the category of Best Supervisor. Arno originally started working as an intern and has developed into a capable and respected junior production manager on the farm De Keur.
Another of our talented team, Lawrence Balani, won for the category of Best Irrigation Foreman. Lawrence is a dedicated, hard-working employee who was recently promoted to Senior Irrigation Supervisor.
Finally, Koos Galant came second in the Middle Management category. Koos is an experienced Production Manager, specifically focusing on fruit. He is known for his leadership skills and high team engagement, motivating them to constantly up their game and better their performance.
We are excited about the future of this company with such a talented team!
